I find tradeshows and conferences very valuable, its the best place to network with people in your industry. You can easily build your contact list and relationship with potential business partners

I agree networking has not really gotten me any clients in the sense of just a few people I have met at networking groups have engaged in my services, however, the ones who have have referred and I think it's more important to be out there and be known. People start to recognize you and then different opportunities present themselves...
